Before you come
Frequently asked questions
The forest takes care of almost everything on its own. The rest we have answered here: what time to arrive, whether your dog can come, where the barbecue is. If something is missing, write to us. We answer fast.
Arriving
- Do I need to book, or can I just turn up?
-
You need to book before you come. We do not take walk-ins: every pitch, every tent and every apartment is booked ahead, so we always know who is arriving and there is a place genuinely waiting for you. Booking is direct and confirmation is immediate.
Book now → - What time can I check in and out?
-
Check-in is from 15:00. Check-out is before 12:00.
If you arrive and there is nobody at reception, message us on WhatsApp at +34 690 12 16 64 and we will sort out your arrival.
- Can I come with a caravan or a motorhome?
-
Yes. The last 2 km of road up to Nova Forest are narrow and winding, but campervans and motorhomes get here without any fuss, whatever their size. If you are bringing a caravan, send us your measurements before you book and we will look at it with you.
See access in detail - Where do I park?
-
In the marked parking areas. There are three inside the grounds, close to the pitches and the tents. Please do not drive or park on the grass: the roots underneath are the reason those trees are still standing.
Food and drink
- Can I buy food at the campsite?
-
Yes. Our store has the essentials: breakfast, drinks, ice, the thing you always leave at home. So you do not have to get back in the car for a liter of milk.
- Is there a restaurant?
-
No restaurant. Nova Forest is a campsite in a forest, not a hotel, and we would rather say that plainly than dress it up.
What there is: when the bar is open you can order a very good pizza, something to share and a cold drink, and eat it under the trees, which is close to everything a night here needs. Plus the store for the basics, the shared kitchen areas and the barbecue. For a big grocery run or a meal out, Sant Celoni is 20-25 minutes away by car.
- Can I cook inside my tent?
-
No: cooking happens in the shared kitchen areas, never inside the tents. It is a fire rule and we mean it. The kitchen areas have what you need and, as it turns out, they are usually where people end up talking.
- Can I use a barbecue?
-
Yes, at no extra cost. The barbecue is in the shared facilities area and it is yours to use.
Two rules, both about fire: charcoal only, never wood, and no open fires outside the designated, supervised areas. Gas stoves and barbecues, used carefully, are fine. In August the Montseny is dry and the whole valley depends on this being respected.
Stays and facilities
- Do the glamping tents have air conditioning?
-
Some do; others have a fan. It depends on the tent, so check the description of the one you are booking or ask us first.
Either way, worth knowing: nights up here are cool even in summer, which is the forest and the altitude. Bring something long-sleeved. Most guests end up needing the blanket more than the air conditioning.
- Do the tents have lights and power outlets?
-
Some have lighting and a power outlet; others do not. It varies by tent and by pitch, so check the accommodation you are interested in or ask us and we will confirm. If you need to keep something charged (phone, camera, laptop), tell us when you book and we will find you a spot where you can.
- Do the tents have their own bathroom and shower?
-
No. Showers and toilets are in the shared facility blocks: there are two, one for the upper area and one for the lower, so there is always one close by. They are cleaned daily.
The stone farmhouse apartments are the exception: those have their own full bathroom and kitchen.
- Is there a pool?
-
Yes. The pool opens in season, with the warm months. It is just above reception and the bar, at the top of the grounds.
- Is there WiFi?
-
Yes, free, in the common areas: reception, the bar and around the facility blocks. We will give you the network name and password when you arrive.
Coverage is honest rather than heroic: on the pitches and inside the tents it varies, and we do not guarantee it. It is enough for messages and maps, not for streaming a movie. Most guests stop checking their phone by the second morning.
Nature, dogs and rules
- Can I bring my dog?
-
Yes. Dogs are genuinely welcome at Nova Forest: there is a lot of forest to walk.
Two conditions: on a leash at all times and pick up and bin whatever they leave. There is livestock, wildlife and small children in and around the grounds, and both rules exist for them.
- What is there to do around here?
-
You are inside the Montseny Biosphere Reserve, so the answer is mostly: walk. Marked trails start a few minutes from the grounds, from easy strolls along the river to full-day climbs toward Turó de l’Home and Les Agudes. We would suggest a trail app (Wikiloc and AllTrails both cover the Montseny well) and we are happy to point you to the one that matches your legs and your day.
Inside the grounds there is the river running between the pitches, the pool, the sports area and the sunset corner, which is exactly what its name says.
- Are there walks from the campsite?
-
Yes. Every walk on our walks page starts from the campsite itself, no car needed. Each one has a map, a GPX file to follow it on your phone, and a printable A4 sheet.
Walks in the Montseny - Is it a good place for kids?
-
It is one of the reasons families come back. Children run free among the trees, the river and the pool without crossing a single road, and there is a sports area for when they still have energy left. Cars stay on the marked tracks, and that is what makes it possible.
- Is it quiet at night?
-
Yes, and we work to keep it that way. Quiet hours run from 22:00 to 7:00: noise and music down to a minimum, out of respect for the other guests, for our neighbors and for the animals that were here first. People looking for a party campsite tend to pick somewhere else, and that suits everyone.
