An hour and twenty minutes to two hours, no car, all the way around the campsite: the walk that shows you what is right outside your door, from day one. You leave through the gate above the pool and climb to the top of El Fitó. Then you pass the Castanyer de les Illes. From there you head down through the woods to the dam at Les Illes, where the riera del Teix joins the Tordera. Its water ran the power plant that brought the village of Montseny its first electricity, in 1951. On the way back you pass the Font de les Nàiades and the ruins of the Fabriqueta d’en Tolín. It was once a sawmill that cut heather root, or briar, for tobacco pipes. There are two climbs. The first is short and steep, up to El Fitó. The second is longer and comes at the end: about 100 meters up from the dam to the campsite. A summit, a dam, and a ruin in two and a half kilometers, and you finish right where you started.

We walked it on 25 September 2026.
